I treat my tumblr as my e-scrapbook so you’ll most likely find tons of gifs and pics being (re)blogged. I love making gifs, in fact if gif-ing is a legit profession, I will be a fucking pro by now. I use Adobe Photoshop CS6 pre-release to make gif (THE best CS version so far, less memory-hogged unlike the previous ones. I’m definitely gonna get the full-version once CS6 gets released) and KMPlayer for screencaps. Feel free to post my gifs anywhere you want, credit is not necessary but I highly appreciate it if you can ♥ the original (gifspam) posts.
How do I get into football? My first taste of football was USA94, thanks to my brother. I barely remembered anything from that World Cup except my brother might or might not had loltastic jiggle for goalcelebration (I asked him, by the way. He vehemently denied it… which mean, yep, he definitely got jiggy with it. Hips don’t lie, bro!) It wasn’t until Euro96 that I was genuinely interested in football - this time around big thanks to Oranje and a certain Dutchman called Dennis Bergkamp. I remembered reading special feature on Oranje and the internal problems within the squad due to clash of egos among their superstars and then there was this tiny column on Dennis Bergkamp - and I thought, “hey, this NT seems like fun!” and I’ve never turned my back after that. I also briefly supported England NT during Euro96 but it was the first and last time ever. Thanks Gareth Southgate for missed that pen, you just saved me from eternal self-loathing if I’d ever continue to support England. Bullet dodged, there. Phew.
Following club football in the 90s wasn’t great though. My support was wishy washy at best. My main sources were sports colums and highlights (extended highlights if I was lucky) at best. We barely had live match back then in Malaysia, in fact I didn’t think we’ve had ones unless it was big match. And if you think broadcasters are biased against the Arsenal now, it was worst back then. I actually grew up watching Manchester United (lots and lots of Mancs matches, to be honest) and Liverpool matches; and at some point, Leeds under David O’Leary (worst football period ever, I grew up hating everything about the club).
In case you can’t tell from my tumblr, I’m supporting the Arsenal. Arsene Wenger can kidnap me anytime and trust me, I will have the worst case of Stockholm Syndrome in the medical history ever. Gunnersaurus is my homie and Rob the Chef better watch his back ‘cause if/when I’ve ever got to Colney, I will hunt him down for Banoffee Pie. (for the record, it wasn’t me who kept pestering him on twitter for the recipe of his famous Banoffee Pie that he eventually decided to published the recipe at the Arsenal mag. Nope, not me.)
I also support other clubs (though not as avid as I am with the Arsenal):
- Ajax FC (I’ve always interested with their history, both of my all-time fave footballers were Ajacieden and lest we forget, this is the club that invented Total Football back in 70s. Respect!)
- Borussia Dortmund (after several seasons of following Bundesliga as neutral fan/supporting any club that’s not Bayern, I’ve decided to adopt them as my third team).
If you hate Dennis Bergkamp, chances are I won’t like you.
I hate Wesley Sneijder. Egomaniac, two-faced, ball-hogging, selfish dwaft. #teamRobin for ever and ever.
I disowned Piers Morgan from Goonerhood. He’s such a disgrace to the Club and fellow Gooners. If you’ve ever post/reblog something nice about him, chances are I will hit the unfollow button faster than you can say ‘Gooner’.
I figured if there’s homophobic/racism/xenophobia/sexism/etc, I could do with my own discrimination too. I despise Gerard Pique since 2004 and trust me, time doesn’t make me hate him any less. So if pictures/videos/etc of him happen to be appeared on your tumblr - unless it’s something loltastic - don’t expect me to follow back. I rather bleach my eyes than tainted my dash with Pique post. Bleugh.
